GAM has won the Investment Team of the Year category at the tenth annual STEP Private Client Awards.
Held by STEP, the worldwide professional association for those advising families across generations, the annual Awards are held in the highest regard across the private client world.
Of the 16 STEP Award categories, only one is dedicated to investments, therefore it is highly sought after.
The Investment Team category, sponsored by Katten Muchin Rosenman, featured a strong set of finalists, with GAM beating Berenberg, London & Capital, Rothschild Wealth Management and Veritas Investment Management to the prize.
The Presiding Judges commented: ‘GAM showed a strong year with continued focus on innovation. They have demonstrated solid performance with an impressive approach to management, research and due diligence.’
Winning a STEP PCA has proven to be a clear mark of excellence as entries go through a rigorous, practitioner-led judging process to select the best in the industry. Chair of the PCA Presiding Judges Paul Stibbard TEP, who opened last night’s ceremony, said: ‘Just being shortlisted is a great achievement, so the firms and individuals who won should be very proud indeed.’
This builds on the success the team achieved in March this year by winning the PAM (Private Asset Management) award for ‘High Growth Portfolios’ and being shortlisted to 3 of 39 in the ‘Growth Portfolios’ category.
Now in their 10th year, the STEP Private Client Awards are widely seen as a hallmark of quality in the private client industry, acknowledging excellence in private client practice. The Awards judges assess entries and are supported by a Panel of Experts selected by the judges and represent internationally renowned solicitors, lawyers, accountants, financial advisors, barristers and trust companies.
